What can be bent without breaking?
Metals like silver, lead, and copper have ductility — a metalsmith can bend, hammer, and even stretch these materials without breaking or shattering them.
Gold, silver, steel, copper and aluminum all have high malleability, i.e., they are easily bent. This means they can be formed or shaped in just about any way imaginable, and they can also be pounded into thin sheets for industrial use.

Aluminium alloy 3003 excellent for bending
The best series for forming – and thus for bending – are the alloy series 3xxx, 5xxx and in some cases 6xxx. Aluminium alloy 6063 is a good choice, for example, while 6082 is more difficult.
It is possible to bend certain grades safely with heat by annealing the metal first, but you need to know the alloys to avoid any fractures or the potential for holes. The best way to bend aluminium angles is by using a shrinker/stretcher tool.
Curved glazing
Curved glass, also referred to as bent glass, is glass that has been heated past its softening point and formed into a curved shape, either by annealed gravity bending, or by heat-treated (tempered or heat-strengthened) bending.
In order to bend a sheet of glass, it is placed in a metal mold and then reheated. This renders the glass soft and malleable, so that it can be shaped according to the contours of the mold. This can cause the glass to deform at the contact points with the support.
