According to the Celtic tree calendar, the Celtic people honored 21 sacred trees.. Shamans work closely with tree magic on the spiritual planes when they “travel” up or down the World Tree to speak to the gods or retrieve lost souls.. The magical properties of trees differ depending on the tree and culture.. If you want to learn tree magic, learn the magical properties of trees in your yard, neighborhood, and local land.. From 'Red Light, Green Light' to the 'Squid Game' itself, you'll find them all here.

COLLIDER VIDEO OF THE DAY Image Via Netflix. Although not part of the Squid Game, the first competition presented in the series is a game all 464 contestants have to play in order to be accepted into the main event.. The first game in the Squid Game is played by children all around the world.. In Red Light, Green Light, a predetermined area is set and while one player (the leader) stands in one end, with their back turned to the rest of the group, all the others can move.. In most cases, the ultimate goal is to get past the leader when their back is turned.. Armed with nothing but a needle, the players have to carve out the shapes without breaking their design – if the shape doesn’t come out whole, the player is killed.. While most players use the needles to make tiny incisions on the edges of each shape (which takes forever), Gi-hun ( Lee Jung-jae ) realizes that making the sugar honeycombs wet is the best way not to break them, as they get softer and it gets easier to carve out the shapes without breaking them.. Easily one of the best rounds in Squid Game , the tug of war challenges each group of players into using all their strength and the best of their skills to make the other group fall to their death.. There is only one rule: pulling on a thick rope to make the opposing team fall past the center mark.. The goal is to win every marble your opponent has, but, as they quickly figure out, that between themselves and the person they chose to pair up with (usually the person they have become closest to), one of them will die.. While one glass square is tempered and will hold up to two players at a time, the square beside it is fragile and whoever jumps on it falls to their death.. Of course, players will try their best to make you fall along the way.

A Camille Styles backyard design update with details on our Mediterranean-style landscaping. We're planting more native plants that can survive another Texas freeze.

Our backyard is back!. If you’ve been around here awhile, you’ll know our lower backyard has been a years-long process—which I call out because for most of us, that’s the reality of designing an outdoor space.. Typically, we tackle one big project a year, and after 12 years of living here, our home is so much closer to our ultimate vision.. So, since it’s been a long time coming, let’s do a quick recap of how the lower backyard has come together since we started really working on it three years ago, and then I’ll share the latest photos so you can see what new changes we’ve made this summer.. For the first 9 years that we lived in the house, our entire focus went to the top level of our backyard design—it’s the much smaller space that our living room opens up to and includes our pool, so naturally we put our budget into this space that was most visible, and got the most use.. In 2019, we decided to start the project of terracing some of the backyard areas to make them flat enough to be usable.. The next year, we’d leveled things out enough to bring in gravel, and we added a massive fire pit and stone steps leading from the upper terrace down to the lower two terraces.. We also made the very exciting decision to add a lot of plants, turning it into a lush garden of olive trees, rosemary, loads of agaves, and boxwood.. This summer, we began the next phase: a big wood deck and raised vegetable gardens —something I’ve dreamed of having here for years.. Building the stone terracing took a couple months, so when that phase was finished, it was time to replant the areas of the backyard that had died off in the freeze.. Adam’s 2022 planting strategy embraced more negative space, grouping the new plants in “clumps” with a few complementary varieties.. Not only did this add height differences that made for a beautiful overall backyard design, it also gave us the most bang for our buck since it didn’t require spreading plants out in every area of this expansive space.
